Education professionals can get a subscription to the streaming home of Bravo, Premier League soccer, the full SNL catalog and more for half the regular price.
Part of NBCUniversal, Peacock has emerged in recent years as one of the major streaming platforms for TV and movies, competing with the likes of Netflix and Disney Plus. It houses network programming from NBC and cable channels including Bravo and Lifetime, as well as sports (including NFL, Premier League and Olympic sports) and movies. It also has one of the best discounts for those working in education. A premium Peacock subscription, which includes limited ads, costs $80 annually; for faculty and staff at public or private K-12 schools or universities in the United States, it’s $40.
Go to peacocktv.com/teacher to set up an account and verify your “educator” status. You’ll be prompted for documents for proof of your employment over the past year, which can include a school ID, official letter, or recent pay stub. If you already have Peacock, you can add your educator verification in your account settings.
The biggest new offering is probably the blockbuster movie musical “Wicked,” which hit the streaming service on March 21. Other Oscar contenders from this year include “Conclave” and “The Wild Robot.” On the TV front, there’s the reality competition show “The Traitors” and the full catalogs of institutions like “Law and Order” and “Saturday Night Live.”
